Automatic Soy Milk Maker: Q’Tessence QT400

  • 200 watt motor, 750 watt heater
  • Weight: 4 pounds 14 ounces
  • Height: 14 inches, including top handle
  • Canister (inner and outer): Stainless steel with side handle
  • Filter basket: Stainless steel
  • Machine head outer: Plastic with electronic controls, feeding window and top handle
  • Machine head components in contact with the liquid: Stainless steel
  • Yield: 6 cups liquid
  • ETL certified
  • Plastic cup for resting machine head

Advantages:

  • Materials that come in contact with the beverages are quality stainless steel.
  • Machine can use either soaked or unsoaked soybeans.
  • 4 grinding blades. (Most soymilk makers have only 2 blades, except for the SoyaPower, which also has 4)
  • Heating element is in the bottom portion of the stainless container. Other soymilk makers have a heating element in the machine head.
  • The filter basket is solid sheet stainless steel, which effectively filters the fibers from the liquid, eliminating the need for additional straining, unless desired.
  • Steel canister has pouring spout and has a rolled top, making pouring less messy.
  • The steel canister’s one-piece construction prevents the soymilk from dripping in between the layer of plastic and steel.
  • Feeding window is an option for adding beans/grains.
  • ETL listed
  • User manual
  • Toll-free ordering and Customer Service

Q’Tessence QT400 Disadvantages:

  • The steel outer surface of the machine gets hot to the touch during operation.
  • This machine does not have any programming options. Pre-set cycle, does not include heat-free operation.

Overall conclusion:

The Q’Tessence QT400 works easily, quickly and produces excellent non-dairy beverages. The Q’Tessence QT400 consistently performs well as advertised. The Q’Tessence QT400 is ETL listed.

The QT400 has three options: soaked beans, unsoaked or dry beans, and reheat; it does lack the ability to grind without heating, so it is not well-suited for making pure rice milk or oat milk.
